Who Are We and What Courses Do We Offer?
TLE (The Leading Edge) is a well-established (running successfully for 11 years) government funded Adult Training Centre that aims to help adult gain extra qualifications for future job prospects, by providing free courses as well as workshops. Funded by the Skills Funding Agency (previously LSC).
The courses that we provide can be completed flexibly, in your own time, as the courses are computer-base learning with tutor support. Thus, whether you are currently unemployed, in part-time employment or full-time employment, you will be able to gain extra qualifications, as our centre is open 7 days a week, just along Chapel Road near Ilford Train Station (1 minute walk from Iceland).
Partnering with LearnDirect, we provide the following courses that are certified by the Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examination (OCR):
Adult Literacy (English): Entry levels 1-3, level 1 & 2
Adult Numeracy (Maths): Entry levels 1-3, level 1 & 2
IT: Level 2 in European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL Extra)
NVQ in Customer Service: Level 2 in NVQ Customer Service
Our English and Maths qualifications are skills equivalent to GCSE. Understanding the situations of adults with various commitments such as work, children and managing the household chores, these courses that we provide are flexible and can be done at home. To review the learner's progress or to gain extra support, they simply need to attend the centre in Ilford at least once a week.
